Meet Dr. ALICE LIU
Dr. Tong (Alice) Liu began her academic adventures at the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a degree in Chemical Biology. After college, she took a brief detour into research as a fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland before earning her dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016, where she achieved the highest rank in her graduating class.
She then headed to Toledo, Ohio for a pediatric dentistry residency, where she developed a particular appreciation for growing smiles and the personalities attached to them. During her residency, she took the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry qualifying examination. She received both the Pugh Award and the James R. Roche Award of Excellence, the latter recognizing her for earning the highest score in the United States on the national pediatric dentistry board examination.
Dr. Liu went on to practice for five years as a board-certified pediatric dentist in Florida and Texas. Eventually, she decided that taking care of growing smiles was not quite enough. She wanted to straighten them, too. So, she returned to school at the University of Minnesota to complete her specialty training in orthodontics.
Her academic journey has now brought her to Concord, New Hampshire, where she is excited to help children, teens, and adults achieve healthier, more confident smiles. Her background in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics gives her a unique perspective on facial growth, dental development, and the long-term care of growing patients. She also enjoys working with adults who have decided that there is, in fact, no expiration date on getting the smile they have always wanted.
When she is not perfecting smiles, Dr. Liu can usually be found unwinding with her cats, Toffee and Olio, who take their responsibilities as movie and book companions very seriously. She balances her enthusiasm for lounging with Pilates, yoga, hiking, and a never-ending quest to learn something new.
